The daily dose of art THE RECESSION PAINTINGS

There is no predicting what the muses will inspire us to do.  Here are 3 paintings from the time of the Great Recession, oddly enough called the Recession Paintings.  All are acrylic on canvas.

BLACK PAINTING...LA FAMIGLIA

La Famiglia acrylic on panel 24x24"

Initially entitled the black paintings, I later renamed them "Recession Paintings". This seemed much more appropriate. They were completed at the end of 2008 and all but this one were posted on the blog. La Famiglia was completed as part of a collaborative show focusing on the theme of communication and community, with each artist working off the painting on another.

FINI - KAPUT - DONE

Well...at least I hope so. I've been threatening for days, but I believe I have finally finished the black "recession" paintings. Yesterday resulted in the following 12x12 panels:

Moonscape 12x12 acrylic $300

small square 121x12 acrylic $300

Tuscan trees o black 12x12 acrylic $300

I must say, this has been like eating potato chips, impossible to stop after only one.
I will make one more effort to move on, away from the acrylics and on to watercolors and clay printing. Hopefully I will have something to show for my efforts in a few days.
