The daily dose of art VICTORIAN HOMES

I love Victorian architecture, especially the wide variety of intricate Victorian style homes.  In this regard I was fortunate to be living within 2 hours of Cape May NJ, a seashore resort town at the southern tip of the state, and home to one of this country's greatest collection of Victorian architecture.  In the late 1980s, collaborating with my dear friend at the Washington Street Gallery, I created a number of prints of Cape May's Victorian heritage.

THE DAILY URBAN LANDSCAPE #25 HISTORIC NEW CASTLE DELAWARE

Arm chair traveling is great; yesterday at this time I was looking at Atlanta GA and today I'm back in Delaware.  New Castle, located on the Delaware river a few miles below Wilmington, was on the Rockefeller "short list" of towns considered for historic restoration, but it eventually lost out to Williamsburg VA.  I'm sure there are many in the town who do not see that as a loss.

THE DAILY URBAN LANDSCAPE #24 PEACHES ANYONE?

I painted and published two Atlanta skylines, one for myself and one for a client.  I spent an entire day driving around the city in a rented car photographing everything and anything.  Once I returned to the studio I was able to create these compositions:

THE DAILY URBAN LANDSCAPE #9 WILLIAMSBURG VA

Today we head south to Virginia and back in time to 19th century visiting Willamsburg.  The village has everything I like to paint - bricks and texture.  The visit resulted in 2 paintings that I published  in my portfolio of limited edition prints in the 1980s.  Each print is 12x37"  ($50.00 each or $75.00 for both)

A NEW WEBSITE

-->

New Website

Prints of my artwork, as well as some originals, are now available through my new website with Fine Art America -  http://william-renzulli.artistwebsites.com/.  My original website, www.renzulliart.com is still active.)  It is now possible to obtain prints - in a variety sizes - of paintings that are no longer available.

The website is now active, but remains a work in progress; I have been gradually adding images and will continue to do so.

The work is arranged by categories in separate galleries, with some paintings listed in more than one gallery.

If there is a particular painting that you are interested in feel free to contact me and I will see if it can be added to the site.

BEEN THERE...DONE THAT

From the mid ‘80s into the early ‘90s I published a rather large (53) series of limited edition prints and posters based on my watercolors. These streetscapes, town and cityscapes, and architectural paintings represented cities and towns in eastern U.S. In a moment of nostalgic fervor I decided to photograph my remaining inventory to have for my personal files and to add them to my new website.

The towns and cities represented include: Wilmington, DE, Fenwick Island, DE, New Castle, DE, Odessa, DE, Philadelphia, PA, Annapolis, MD, Baltimore, MD, St. Michaels, MD, Arlington, VA, Williamsburg, VA, Cape May, NJ, Washington, DC, Boston, MA, Martha’s Vineyard, MA, New Port, RI, Atlanta, GA, Savannah, GA, and Charleston, SC.

Creating these images from dozens of photographs was both challenging and gratifying, but the real joy was visiting all of these cities and towns, often accompanied by a good friend. Each print holds cherished memories for me.
