An accounting of what I have experienced, learned, and still hope to learn from my years as a physician and artist, and as a member of a large extended italian-american family.
Today I have every intention of working on the large canvas, and hopefully at the end of the day I will be able to post some progress. In the meantime, here is the rest of yesterday's efforts.
Jeannette, I have this need to move from one thing to another, and frequently have several works in progress, usually unrelated to one another. It may be different sizes, media, or subjects. I enjoy the challenge of changing approaches abruptly, and because I'm in the studio every day I am able to aquire significant experience with each "category".
After 31 years of pursuing 2 careers, medicine and art, I am now fully retired from medicine and am able to devote all of my time and energy to art. How wonderful is that?!

It's going great with your small paintings! Do you have any idea what/why you gravitate to "small" right now?

I love the little bits -- and these are really perfect!
