An accounting of what I have experienced, learned, and still hope to learn from my years as a physician and artist, and as a member of a large extended italian-american family.
before I painted another barn! I avoided the barn thing for as long as I could, but yesterday my will collapsed and I gave in to the urge, consoling myself that it was only a very small barn.
After 31 years of pursuing 2 careers, medicine and art, I am now fully retired from medicine and am able to devote all of my time and energy to art. How wonderful is that?!

I feel your pain. The temptation to paint barns is a pathological thing for us.
Worth it, as this image demonstrates.
