FONTERUTOLI

In the fall of 2008 we spent a week in Tuscany, renting an apartment in a centuries old winery in the village of Fonterutoli. Located on the Chianti highway, aproximately half way between Florence and Siena, we could easily reach many of the wonderful towns and cities in the Region. This painting is based on photos we took late in the day on a stretch of the highway overlooking the village.

I struggled with the buildings trying to capture the right color and patina of their age, and am not totally satisfied with the results. I guess I will have to go back there and get better pics.

It is on a 24x24" panel.

You're being too tough on yourself...this painting is a feast for my eyes. Let's have more Tuscany.
