the daily dose of art...ALL ART IS DERIVATIVE

In the early 1970s during the first years of my practice, while art was still a hobby, a spent a lot of my free time drawing and sketching.  Most of the time I used my Parker 45 fountain pen, and occasionally a pencil or felt tip pen. My inspiration came from magazine photos as well as local architecture.  I don't know the exact date of this pen & ink drawing, done on a gray toned paper.

It is small - about 8x10" and was probably done around 1975.  The thing is, I never forgot about this drawing, and almost 40 years later, without referencing it, I painted this piece:

Left Alone  acrylic  3x40"

Left Alone  detail

If only I could remember names that well.
