I'M IN LOVE!
Tuscany is beautiful. Rome is crazy, and Foggia is interesting. But my heart belongs to Castelnuovo della Daunia! This tiny village of 1700 souls sits high on a mountain overlooking the vast Pulia valley, where, on a clear day, one can see the Adriatic sea.
I walked the same narrow streets my grand father did as a young boy and man in the late 1800s, looked at the same buildings cramped together as if they could not stand alone, and went into the same church he did (at least before he made up his own mind about religion.)
As soon as I "debrief" myself and get all the photos downloaded I will share some of what we experienced on this amazing trip.
